kulturgrenzenlos e.V. is an intercultural encounter project between young people in Kiel. Through an exchange at eye level, the association is committed to a harmonious and solidary coexistence between people with and without refugee experience.
Through various projects, you have the opportunity to get involved and participate in kulturgrenzenlos e.V.
At joint intercultural events, the kulturgrenzenlos community meets up for sport, cooking and happy get-togethers. Space is created for encounters and interested parties are given the opportunity to get to know the projects and the people behind them.

How can people from different cultures make friends when they are unlikely to meet by chance in their everyday lives?
Four students at Kiel University asked themselves this question and founded kulturgrenzenlos in April 2015 in response. A small student initiative became an association in March 2016 and kulturgrenzenlos has grown into an ever-expanding organization in Kiel over the last few years.
kulturgrenzenlos e.V. is now organized by a young team of around 45 people with and without refugee experience, both full-time and on a voluntary basis.
With a lot of joy and motivation, we are committed to breaking down prejudices and inhibitions and contributing to understanding and friendships.

We would like to share our experience with others. That is why we offer interactive workshops on various topics for organizations. The aim of these workshops is to create a productive exchange and learning space for everyone.
Whether it’s a graffiti workshop, a trip to the bouldering hall or a photography taster course – the range of workshops and events offered by kulturgrenzenlos is diverse. Here you have the chance to try out new things and make new contacts. There is something for everyone here.

Mir macht besonders die Arbeit mit Menschen Spaß. Die Idee eines Begegnungsprojekts, bei dem Menschen mit unterschiedlichen kulturellen Hintergründen aufeinandertreffen finde ich besonders wichtig, um Vorurteile abzubauen und dazu beizutragen, gemeinsam eine offene, bunte Gesellschaft zu gestalten, in der sich jede Person willkommen fühlt. Insbesondere im momentanen gesellschaftspolitischen Klima ist es mir wichtig, mich für ein diverses und friedliches Miteinander einzusetzen.
Interkultureller Austausch bedeutet für mich, sich zu trauen, über den eigenen Tellerrand hinauszublicken, offen auf Menschen und ihre Lebenswelten zuzugehen und neue Perspektiven einzunehmen.
