The two of them prefer to meet spontaneously and enjoy participating in activities organized by kulturgrenzenlos. Once, they attended the tandem café together and decorated tealights. They also love going to the cinema. “Theresa gave me a wonderful gift. She invited me to the movies for my birthday, and we watched the sneak preview at Studio Kino. It was as exciting for me as Christmas, because you don’t know the film beforehand,” they both laugh.
The two really enjoy spending time together and always find topics they can talk about or activities to do together. “What I appreciate most about Daria is her positive and cheerful demeanor,” reveals Theresa. “The project allowed me to meet someone I might not have encountered in my daily life, and through the shared events and activities, you get to know each other better quickly,” Theresa shares with us. “Yes, I feel the same way,” Daria confirms. “Without Theresa, I feel lonely at the events now. She always gets my ‘silly jokes,’ and it’s great that we share the same sense of humor,” the two laugh again.
The two are looking forward to many more moments together.
Mir macht besonders die Arbeit mit Menschen Spaß. Die Idee eines Begegnungsprojekts, bei dem Menschen mit unterschiedlichen kulturellen Hintergründen aufeinandertreffen finde ich besonders wichtig, um Vorurteile abzubauen und dazu beizutragen, gemeinsam eine offene, bunte Gesellschaft zu gestalten, in der sich jede Person willkommen fühlt. Insbesondere im momentanen gesellschaftspolitischen Klima ist es mir wichtig, mich für ein diverses und friedliches Miteinander einzusetzen.
Interkultureller Austausch bedeutet für mich, sich zu trauen, über den eigenen Tellerrand hinauszublicken, offen auf Menschen und ihre Lebenswelten zuzugehen und neue Perspektiven einzunehmen.
