In our Blickwinkel project, you were able to gain experience in photography and filming as part of an intercultural media team. Under the motto “We show diversity!”, we want to show a good coexistence of different cultures in Kiel through photo and video projects. We have also launched a joint podcast channel. There, people can talk about their experiences, share their stories and knowledge and open up new perspectives. In this way, knowledge about other cultures can be imparted and prejudices broken down. The results of our productions are presented online in social media, on our media website (https://media.kulturgrenzenlos.de/), as well as in exhibitions and public film screenings.
Everyone is welcome to join our media team, regardless of whether you already have experience in photography and filming or not. Together we want to develop and implement ideas for media projects and show how diverse Kiel is. Mit eigenen Texten teilen Menschen aus Afghanistan persönliche Erinnerungen und Geschichten von ihrem Leben in Afghanistan und ihrer Ankunft in Deutschland. Die Ausstellung bietet einen Einblick in andere Lebenswelten und eröffnet neue Perspektiven. Hier gehts zur virtuellen Ausstellung.
In the exhibition, Syrians provide personal insights into their past in Syria, their journey to Germany and their life in Kiel with stories and objects from their everyday lives. The idea of the exhibition is to make Syrian life in Kiel more visible, to get to know people from Syria and to share thoughts and experiences. The stories are personal experiences of the authors.
The exhibition Stories of Remembering and Arriving shows various stories from the exhibition Syria memorabilia and Afghan women* tell as well as other stories or memories of people who no longer live in their home country.
The idea of the exhibition is to visualise diverse life in Kiel. The stories are the personal experiences of the authors.
The exhibition Geschichten vom Erinnern und Ankommen was shown at the Waterkant exhibition in 2023. Waterkant is a project by opencampus Sh.
What would you like to see for coexistence in Kiel? What does your dream of social coexistence in the future look like? These were the topics of this year’s film competition ‘48h Kiel – Show Your Vision’!
In a team of 2-3 people (in compliance with the current contact restrictions), participants were able to show their view of Kiel’s future in a 3-5 minute short film. Whether recorded with a mobile phone or camera, any film could be submitted. Participants were also completely free to choose the genre and could, for example, make a fiction film, a documentary or a music video.
All films were shown at an evening event and the best three films won a prize, which was awarded by a jury.

Do you live in Kiel or the surrounding area, are you under 28 and Muslim or Muslim-read? Do you want to learn more about the topic and film production? Then you’ve come to the right place! Sign up with your friends and take part in our workshops. At the end, the videos will be shown in the studio cinema and the best film will be awarded by public voting! Regardless of whether you already have experience in making videos or not, everyone can take part in the ‘Spotlight – Your Message, Your Video’ film festival. Mir macht besonders die Arbeit mit Menschen Spaß. Die Idee eines Begegnungsprojekts, bei dem Menschen mit unterschiedlichen kulturellen Hintergründen aufeinandertreffen finde ich besonders wichtig, um Vorurteile abzubauen und dazu beizutragen, gemeinsam eine offene, bunte Gesellschaft zu gestalten, in der sich jede Person willkommen fühlt. Insbesondere im momentanen gesellschaftspolitischen Klima ist es mir wichtig, mich für ein diverses und friedliches Miteinander einzusetzen.
Interkultureller Austausch bedeutet für mich, sich zu trauen, über den eigenen Tellerrand hinauszublicken, offen auf Menschen und ihre Lebenswelten zuzugehen und neue Perspektiven einzunehmen.
