The Ideencafé: Events - Empowerment - Engagement

The Ideas Café is part of the joint project Network Integration Empowerment #WIRKLICHMACHEN and is co-financed by the European Union.
We create opportunities for encounters between people with and without refugee or migrant background and actively shape intercultural togetherness in Kiel!

  • Would you like to meet new people?
Then become part of our Ideenteam! We are a diverse team of volunteers and meet once a month at Semikolon in the Alte Mu to discuss and plan ideas for events together. We then carry these out in small groups.

Events

We have already organized country evenings, dance and creative workshops and fun trips together. If you have an idea yourself or simply enjoy planning, you can join our Ideenteam meetings at any time – we look forward to seeing you!
Do you have a connection to a particular country or would you like to plan a cultural festival with us? We regularly organize country evenings where you can bring this country closer to other people, be it through personal stories, music or food.

Engagement

We are an open group of committed people and look forward to welcoming every new person to the team.
Let’s promote diversity and social participation in Kiel through volunteer event planning!

Empowerment

Whether it’s canoeing, kite making, karaoke, a dance workshop or cooking together: At the Ideencafé, we are always looking for people who want to share their passion and talent with others.
By realizing intercultural events together, we empower each other!

In addition, we as Ideenteam regularly attend workshops on diversity-sensitive event planning so that our events can take place with as few barriers as possible.

Podcast

Another part of the Ideencafé project is the podcast production, in which our volunteers talk about their experiences and motivations for their social commitment.

  • Rolle im Projekt:
    Projektkoordinatorin im Projekt “CoCo – Cooking Connects”
  • Was motiviert dich, bei uns mitzuarbeiten?

    Mir macht besonders die Arbeit mit Menschen Spaß. Die Idee eines Begegnungsprojekts, bei dem Menschen mit unterschiedlichen kulturellen Hintergründen aufeinandertreffen finde ich besonders wichtig, um Vorurteile abzubauen und dazu beizutragen, gemeinsam eine offene, bunte Gesellschaft zu gestalten, in der sich jede Person willkommen fühlt. Insbesondere im momentanen gesellschaftspolitischen Klima ist es mir wichtig, mich für ein diverses und friedliches Miteinander einzusetzen.

  • Was bedeutet dir interkultureller Austausch?

    Interkultureller Austausch bedeutet für mich, sich zu trauen, über den eigenen Tellerrand hinauszublicken, offen auf Menschen und ihre Lebenswelten zuzugehen und neue Perspektiven einzunehmen.

  • Ein Fun Fact über dich:
    Meine kleine Mopshündin Lilly wird euch evtl. auch im Büro oder bei gemeinsamen Projekten über den Weg laufen.
